Dogecoin (DOGE) slowed down a two-day descent on Friday, recording a 2% rally (as of writing) as the broader cryptocurrency market maintained its newfound bullish momentum.
This comes as Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, announced that starting today (February 3), artists would begin receiving a portion of ad revenue. The initiative is relevant to ads that show up in reply threads from creators. This is yet another initiative by Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who had been planning to enhance the social media platform’s income model.

The most recent initiative also has a tangential connection to the cryptocurrency market because it has long been rumored that Twitter will start accepting payments in DOGE.
It is no secret that Dogecoin is Musk’s favorite cryptocurrency, and his predictions for the cryptocurrency are quite optimistic. However, it is unclear how using DOGE to make payments will affect the authors’ ad revenue plan.
Dogecoin Community Optimistic About a DOGE Integration on Twitter
According to Musk on Friday, authors must be members of Twitter’s Blue Verified program to be eligible for the revenue share. The fact that Tesla is already accepting DOGE payments for its products has instilled immense trust in the Dogecoin community.
On the other hand, the DOGE community is hoping that Twitter will eventually provide cryptocurrency-based payments within the next few months. Not only that, but Musk had already hinted subtly on Twitter about plans to roll out DOGE payments.
Recently, it was also rumored that Twitter might release a wallet that handles cryptocurrency withdrawals and deposits. According to reports, the microblogging platform is also developing the NFT Tweet Tiles functionality.
