GAIB, a crypto-AI business, has raised $5 million in its pre-seed round of funding to transform the use of GPUs in AI computing.
In a funding round led by Hack VC and other prominent investors like Faction VC, Hashed, Spartan, Animoca Brands, and Near Foundation, GAIB, established in June 2024, intends to use blockchain technology to tokenize Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) and make them available to a wider audience.
To this end, GAIB aims to use its innovative platform to bridge the gap between AI computing and decentralized finance (DeFi).
Tokenizing GPUs to Unlock AI Potential
GPUs are essential for executing and training AI models, and GAIB’s platform is made to tokenize them without requiring actual hardware. GAIB allows investors to take part in the GPU economy by transforming these historically illiquid hardware assets into fungible tokens through DeFi applications to encourage lending, borrowing, and even GPU-backed stablecoins.

To establish GAIB as a leader in the blockchain and AI sectors, co-founder and CEO Kony Kwong emphasized the need to increase the liquidity of GPU assets and the rising demand for scalable AI computing.
Launch Plans and Future Expansion
GAIB has already created a prototype and aims to launch a pilot program this month, with an alpha product release anticipated for the next two months.
Following these developments, GAIB will launch its token and spread its platform to several blockchains, including Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Polygon (ex-Matic). Currently, with 19 workers, the Singapore-based firm plans to expand its marketing, operations, and R&D teams by employing more. The goal of GAIB is to build a GPU-tokenized ecosystem to reduce entry barriers for investors and increase accessibility to AI computing.
However, with $5 million in funding and a unique vision to tokenize GPUs, GAIB poises to transform the AI computing landscape. Therefore, its innovative approach combines blockchain technology and DeFi, enabling widespread access to critical computing resources. As it prepares to launch its platform and token, GAIB’s mission to bridge the AI and crypto worlds sets the stage for a more decentralized and inclusive future in AI computing.
