As the launch of Shibarium Beta approaches, excitement and anticipation are building within the crypto community. The lead developer of Shiba Inu, Shytoshi Kusama, has previously compared Shibarium to a “pine tree” that needs the right conditions to grow and thrive, even in harsh winters.
Kusama to Use Shiba Inu’s Shibarium
Recently, a user known as “Nasty Shib” shared a screenshot of Kusama’s thoughts on the potential and utility of Shibarium’s Layer 2 blockchain.
I'm looking forward to when more investors begin to understand what for since the beginnings I have called the "ecosystem" and "satellite" tokens.
Much like a tree there will be larger and smaller branches of what essentially is Shibarium as the trunk with #SHIB roots 💫🩶🧡❤️ pic.twitter.com/5Iz2Gr49em

In the screenshot, Kusama stated that projects like F9 and Mbet, among others, would be utilizing the blockchain. F9 is a community project built on the Ethereum blockchain, while Mbet represents a play-to-earn/GameFi casino ecosystem.
Mbet is currently only traded on Shiba Inu’s DEX, Shibaswap, which currently accounts for 97.39% of trading volumes.
Shibarium’s Layer 2 blockchain is being built to serve a variety of industries, including the metaverse, Web3 innovation, and gaming. As stated in a blog post, “Layer 2 is a collective blockchain that scales and invites solutions, innovation, and security to the decentralized finance space.”
The blockchain runs on top of the Ethereum blockchain, which the SHIB ecosystem tokens (SHIB, LEASH, and BONE) utilize.
As part of the mainnet launch, there are plans to integrate ShibaSwap into the platform. This would allow users, validators, and delegators to access all staking and liquidity pools and could also lead to faster transaction times, lower fees, and an expanded development framework for tokens and projects on Shibaswap.
Overall, expectations for Shibarium’s potential are high, with many in the crypto community eagerly awaiting its launch and the impact it could have on the Shiba Inu ecosystem and the broader crypto space.
