According to the co-Chief Investment Officer of hedge fund Pantera Capital, Joey Krug, Ethereum (ETH) will dominate the financial space in the coming decade. Krug boldly asserted that in the next decade, 50% of global financial transactions could involve Ethereum.
Krug’s ambitious prediction for ETH is based on the growing relevance of smart contracts in the financial world and Ethereum’s dominance in the smart contracts space. The investment officer also noted that he does not foresee any of the fabled “Ethereum killers,” including Solana, Polkadot, and Cardano, usurping dominance from Ethereum. He noted that:
“If you roll the clock forward 10 to 20 years, a very sizable percent, maybe even north of 50%, of the world’s financial transactions in some way, shape or form will touch Ethereum.”
Over the years, Ethereum has grown to become a critical part of financial services, thanks to the pioneering niche of decentralized finance (DeFi). DeFi has also become a mainstay in investment and financial growth, as it introduces several novel financial applications aiding wealth management and growth.
Nonetheless, ETH has suffered a list of technical setbacks that have diminished the growth potential of the network. The network is notorious for high gas fees and long transaction times as more users come on board. However, developers behind the platform have come up with a solution to the lingering setback: ETH 2.0.
Key Ethereum Levels to Watch — January 10
The crypto market’s woes resumed in the trading session on Monday, as ETH refreshed the $3,000 low area. This decline comes after a brief recovery yesterday to the $3,200 level. However, it appears that the recovery was only a bull trap as the second-largest cryptocurrency resumed its bearish journey a few hours ago.

With ETH still far from oversold territories on my daily MACD indicator, bears are likely aiming for the $2,700 mark, a 10% drop from the current price zone.
Meanwhile, my resistance levels are $3,100, $3,200, and $3,300, and my support levels are $2,800, $2,750, and $2,650.
